Flexible MDF FlexiMDF is similar to Flexiply in function but gives a far smoother finish on the face making for better painting. FlexiMDF is produced by precision machining grooves along one face of the board creating an artificial “grain” and causing the panel to flex in a single direction. As with the Flexiply, the FlexiMDF will create an arc that is perpendicular to the grain direction of the face. Flexible Plywood Flexiply is probably the most widely used flexible product on the market. It has a specialised construction, allowing it to be easily bent to shape. The arc formed by the bend is perpendicular to the grain direction of the face and the exact bending radii have to be determined in accordance with the type of surface finishing required and the extent of the surface to be treated.
